Laptop power jack issue.
Hey guys, I'm working on a Gateway MX6960 with a power jack issue for a friend. It was just the typical broken solder joint on the board, so I put a new jack and all that on it. Tested the connections afterwards, and everything was fine. 19V constant to all ground points on the motherboard. Put it all back together, no dice. Laptop wouldn't charge at all. Took it back apart, th/inking something lost connection. Tested again, 19V. Never seen anything like that before. :-/

All in all, motherboard is getting power, but won't charge, or turn on via AC power.

Any ideas?

The motherboard could have been damaged from the jack being broken. If the motherboard is no good you'll have to replace it, and unless you can find a cheap one on eBay it usually not worth it.
