Unhappy Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop monitor keeps going black!!!
Ok, so I don't know if it is the motherboard or if it is actually the lcd monitor.
I will be using the laptop and then all of a sudden the screen goes black, like the computer was turned off. I pop up the power button panel and pill the monitor cable from the motherboard, wait a few seconds and plug it back in and it will work for a few more seconds and then go black again.
I believe that it is the monitor, but I am not sure. I have been noticing that whenever I turn my laptop on from the sleep mode, that the screen is a pink color and then slowly goes to the normal white color. I am not having any other problems with the computer, except the microphone jack. When trying to use a microphone, when it does detect sound, it just plays back a high pitch static sound.
But besides the monitor and the microphone jack, I am not having any other problems.

If I have to replace my motherboard will I loose all of my info on the computer? Because I will have to try and get it all backed up if so. Please help me!!! Thank you so much!!!
