I'm just going to copy paste this from my e-mail conversation instead of retyping, hope you don't mind. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. I've done all I can do without starting to replace major parts. Thank god I just invested in an external HDD last week!

No bad smell, I'm sure anythings possible though. I bought the parts March 20th, 2006 so its been in use for about 3 1/2 years now. Short of buying new parts I think I've exhausted my knowledge of fixable options. With how much technology has progressed it would suck to replace the motherboard and try to spec one that matches all of my other parts.

It doesn't smell bad right? Motherboard have any blown cathodes?

Okay computer question. I replaced my CMOS battery. It was a CR2032 but there was print over the 3 so I thought it was a 0. Either way it got fixed. Still nothing. When I power my computer on the screen stays blank but the computer turns on. The red light that usually blinks red for the hard drive is solid red. I tried rerunning the cables to my hard drive and swapping them out, got nothing. Removed and cleaned my video card, still nothing. Tried plugging into my onboard video, nothing. Replaced the CMOS battery twice (package came with two), nothing. Unclipped and replugged in all my motherboard cables. I'm f'n stumped.... and pissed. Any ideas? I'm assuming its something with my hard drive because of the light. Oh yeah, it happened like 2 nights ago in the middle of the night. Completely regular, left the computer on, shut my monitor off, went to bed, woke up, red light is solid and display was gone. Been f'ed ever since.
