Problem with Speakers
I own the following speakers:

http://www.woot.com/Blog/ViewEntry.aspx?Id=1126

Altec Lansing, 8(?) years old.

What is happening is that the speakers have decided to permanently reduce their volume by about 50%, only occasionally they'll suddenly shoot up to 100% for a second, then go back to 50%.

What is happening? What can I do to fix them? Perhaps are they just too old?

Thanks

Speakers fail. I recently had to replace the 5.1 speakers on my system.

As long as you have checked/reseated connections and there is no driver errors/problems, I would replace the speakers.

I assume you have checked these speakers with another system to make sure it is the speakers and not the sound card that is failing.

I've tried them with other computers. It is the speakers that are problematic. They probably are done. Thanks
