Cool hard drive upgrade
i currently have a toshiba satellite a135-s7403. it has a factory installed 80gb SATA drive at 5400rpm.

i was wondering if anyone knew if this computer can be upgraded to a 7200rpm drive, or should i just stick with 5400?

or at least let me know what stats i should look for that would tell me if i can upgrade to that.

thanks.

Hi, (I'm new and really don't know how to use this!) So i'm going to post here...
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 (model: 1525-2736) with 80GB RAM (I think?) I would really like to upgrade my hard drive to something like 120GB RAM but I have no clue how/if it's possible?
Sorry, but could you tell me wht to do/who to contact?
(I can't find the specs for the machine as i bought it 2 years ago (new) and Dell has stopped producing them....)
Many Thanks!

Sorry, but do you mean RAM or HDD capacity.

Any laptop's HDD can be replaced with any size you want as long as it's the same interface (sata, ide) with the original HDD. The rpn refers to the speed of the HDD's spindle on how much data it is able to access per second.

Replacing new HDD would mean you loose the laptop's original OS and utilities. But you can "clone" your old HDD to a new one. A new OS on DVD or other source is required to install it to new HDD if you want a fresh install.
