RAM Conifiguration
Hey Guys,

I had ordered some more RAM and just recieved it today. I have one small problem. When I first went to install it, Windows 7 recognized that it was there and reported that I had 2gb of RAM but it said that only 512mb were usable. At that point I had a kingston 512 in DIMM 1 the new 1gb G skill RAM in DIMM 2, and another 512mb Kingston in DIMM 3.

I shut off the computer and switched the RAM in DIMM's 2 and 3 and now I have Windows 7 recognizing 2 gb and saying that 1gb is usable. Can you help me?

Here are specs
MSI 7093 motherboard
Kington 512 MB RAM x2
G Skill 1 GB RAM
Phoenix BIOS

I think that is a dual channel memory board, you need to pair the memory modules in the proper sockets, I could not find that model on the MSI website, the board should have come with a user guide, it should tell you how to install memory for dual channel mode.

you can also find that model if you go to msi website and search RS482M2-IL but I have searched and they don't have a downloadable user guide. I bought this computer used and never got a manual. I can't find anywhere that can help me find the right config.

Thank You. Now I know that my motherboard doesn't support only 3 DIMMS I have to bring it down to two or buy another to bring it to four.
