hardrive issue..
i have a hp workstation 4300, i have xp sp2, i have a diamondmax 40gig hard drive.. i was infecte by a virus that disabled task manager, and cmd prompt, well i think i killed it.. the thing is i want to reinstall xp professional.. but when i run the installation it says no hard drive is found.. but i am using the computer and it boots fine from the one and only hard drive.. i disconnected and connected the hard drive and it still didnt recognize it.. downloaded seagate tools, but every test fails.. i dont know what to do next... i ran another test and it came out i should change my hard drive... i have no extra hard drives to check if the motherboard is failing.. but i changed the battery.. on the motherboard.. .. please if anyone has had this problem before i appreciate any help ....thanx..
