Question Does this make sense?
System: Gateway DX4800

I recently bought a Nvidia Geforce 9500GT 1gb ram Graphics card and a 500W Turbolink ATX power supply to upgrade my PC's 300 W psu. After installing the new psu and graphics card the computer shut off after running windows for about 3 minutes and wouldnt turn back on.
I already requested a return for the psu.

Is there anything thats stopping my current system from being compatible with either the power supply or the graphics card upgrade?

Does this upgrade make sense?

There's a reason that the power supply is so cheap. Get a quality unit before trying to upgrade anything. Your first attempt may have already broken something, but let's hope not. Get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139008
Then. 9500 GT is a very weak card by today's standards.. You can get something better for pretty much the same price:
