Formatting drive - RAID 1 in critical status
Hi,

When I start up my computer I get the following message:
RAID1 in critical status. Then: Invalid BOOT.INI file, booting from C:/WINDOWS.

I've got a Dell computer with XP and SATA RAID 0+1. I would like to format the computer as it's slowing down and starting up programs by itself.

I have formatted a couple of computers before but not with a RAID setup. I've got everything backed up and ready to go but I was wondering if anyone can talk me through this as I have no experience with RAID.

Will it be different to formatting a normal hard drive? What do I need to look out for?
The fact that it says RAID 1 is in critical status does this mean it's knackered or could I revive it by formatting it? And how would I know which is the case?
How can I find out which is my RAID 0 and RAID 1 drive when I open my computer in case I need to replace it?

If it helps, I went into the setup utility and it said:
Primary drive 0 drive type: Hard drive
Primary drive 1 drive type: OFF (when I set it to AUTO it said Model: unknown, so I set it back to OFF)

Many thanks for your help.
