Computer Blue Screening Issue (Unknown problem)
Hi,

A couple of years ago I self built a machine for general use (gaming, media, work and such). However, I've been having problems with it, and it's now getting beyond anoying.

At the moment, when I am using the machine, programs will crash and the computer will Blue Screen (BSoD) at random intervals. It could be 3 mins between BSoD's or 3 hours, there is no knowing when it will happen.

There is a bit of a pattern to it, the BSoD's will start off at about 5-10 mijn intervals for about 2 or 3 BSoD's, then it'll go down to it BSoDing whilst loading windows, and then strech out to about a couple of hours until the next one, then go through the cylce again.

Sometimes, when it re-starts, it will get stuck in a loop before the MOBO logo appears on screen, I hear the CD drives start up, then after a moment, it'll turn off and re-start again, but this doesn't happen very often.

A quick bit of history of the issues:

A freind of mine suggested it might be a RAM issue, so I have replaced the RAM several times to no avail. I have also replaced the Motherboard twice and swapped what hard drives I was booting from.

I found out some time ago that my Power Supply was faulty, and when I replaced that, it solved some issues, but the overiding BSoD issues remains.

When I'm using media programs (i.e. Media Player, VLC and such) and Games they will randomly crash, sometimes other programs, (Firefox, Excel, Word etc) crash, but at nowhere near the intervals of the media prgrams.

I have changed operating systems 3 times, and gone from XP, to Vista and Windows 7 (my current OS) and had the same issue each time.

My current set-up:

Mobo: Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3Ghz LGA775
RAM: OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 DFI
Graphics Card: Sapphire Technology Radeon X1950 PRO
Hard Drives: 3x Samsung SpinPoint HD501LJ 500GB SATAII, 1x Western Digital Raptor 74GB S150
Soundcard: Creative X-Fi USB

All drivers are up to date, there are no viruses that I can find on my machine, and I always keep it updated via windows updates and such.

As I mentioned, I have replaced the RAM several times, including after the PSU issue was sorted, but so far, I have gone through 3 motherboards, 3 sets of ram and 2 PSU's with this computer. I'm hoping that I can find out what the problem is as the comp works really well, when it's not BSoDing.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the issue might be?
