Solved: Bios Problem
Ok so I just build my new computer. Everythings hooked up it comes on the monitor, so I set the bios to default it recognizes my hard drive, and both cd/dvd drives. So I go to install Vista I have the disk but it says Reboot or select proper reboot device, or insert boot media in selected boot device.
Can someone please help me.

I dont think you can , The full version EULA end user license agreement - allows you to transfer to a different PC - providing you Uninstall from the original PC
One windows PC only....

Also wouldn't the disk be recognized and upload, it would just be the trial version?

I think it should boot, it will be the activation thats the problem...
anyway its not booting a CD ...

so thats the problem

This is a bootable CD and has not been damaged ?

on your other PC - you could try downloading and creating
www.ultimatebootcd.com

if this boots there are some utilities to test the PC

ok so I went into advance settings and set my main cd/dvd drive as first priority and my harddrive as my second, and disabled everything else like my other cd/dvd drive and my generic card reader. I made sure that I put the disk in the right drive but it still comes up as Reboot or select proper reboot device, or insert boot media in selected boot device. Also does it matter if all my drives are SATA do I need an IDE disk drive?

interesting, not had experiance here with Sata - but reading this http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/8...oper-boot.html
you may right
Is SATA enabled in BIOS - I have seen a reference to that
Also check all the cables etc are connected OK
perhaps disconnect everything else and make it a minimum system.

If it is a sata type dvd drive, some of the older ones do not work correctly if the sata controller mode is set to ahci or raid.

If you have a sata dvd drive, then try setting the controller mode to ide or native ide; save settings and restart.
