No supported CD-Recorder available.
I have Windows 2000 OS, a Sony CD-RW (internal), and Adaptec 4.0x. When trying to record data, I am getting a message that says "There are no supported CD-Recorders available. Ensure that your CD-Recorder is powered on and that all cables are properly connected." I can read manufactured CDs, etc. Any suggestions?

Make sure you've got the updates for Windows 2000.

Depending on which version you have, it may not be compatible with 2000.

Hello jvbur welcome to TSG!

Most likely the problem is that your burning software (adaptec 4.0) is not compatible with the Sony. I just ran across this same problem with a CenDyne CDRW when I tried to use my existing software with the new machine. I suggest that you go to Adaptec's web site and see if an upgrade is available. Another option is to try NERO, which I prefer over Adaptec.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'll try another software.
