OMG...my laptop mouse button STICKS! I have an HP Entertainment series laptop and the left "click" button (with the touchpad) has always sort-of stuck on the one side. To try and give you a visual, these buttons are long...and if you clicked on it more to the left side of the button, it seemed as though that part was getting stuck under the casing (as if the button were too long to really pop under the casing without getting caught). I would have to re-push on the opposite side to get it to pop back up.
The last few weeks, it has become more frequent and I thought that maybe there was some dirt/grime/etc that might've been the culprit....so I just took a can of air to the creases of it. Since then, it has been worse YET! NOW....there are times when it doesn't even have to stick DOWN to be "stuck". When this happens, I can't click on ANYTHING....no "hand" appears on links and if I move the pointer, it highlights the text on a page BLUE as if I were holding, clicking, dragging type of thing. And I might add, when it gets like this, it is VERY VERY difficult to get back to "normal". UGH.
Is there any way for me to safely remove this button so I can check it out underneath? I've raised it up a bit with a needle to try and see, but I am terrified to really be like, "HMMMM....what does THIS do?". I am pretty handy, but this is an avenue I haven't ventured and I don't like experimenting on a 4 month old machine
Any ideas for me? I would GREATLY appreciate it!
Thanks!: ) |
