Floppy Disk Issue More Than Just The Drive
My unkle has got a problem with his floppy disk drive. I took it out and put a different one into it and it still didnt work. I looked at the motherboard and 3 of the capacitors are bulging up and 2 of them are almost covered in a brown powder sort of stuff. Shall I just recoment he gets a new computer as I am amazed that it even boots as it is to be honest.

Yes. Bulging capacitors are a disaster waiting to happen. He could replace the motherboard, but what if the problem is caused by the power supply, etc., etc., etc.

You can get the board re-capped.

I don't think it would be worth it for an old hp i-media with about 20gb hard drive and 800mhz CPU. I have a computer he could probably have instead. Thanks for all the help.
