move from dynamic disk to basic
I purchased a Gateway LX6810 multimedia.with windows vista home premium. Ther is of course other software onthe hardisk. The harddisk is Dynamic therefore i can not use my Mirror program ACRONIS Image. How do i mirror my operating system +other software to a new basic disk. I have software to then change my dynamic disk to a basic disk. Simle said i paid for vista home premium and want to keep it but place it on a basic disk not the dynamic nightmare.

I have a similar problem. I have a new 500 gig hard drive. About half of it is partitioned as a dynamic disk. I am running Win XP Home, which does not support dynamic disks. Is there any way to convert a dynamic partition back to a basic? None of the partitioniing programs (Partition Magic, for instance) can see the dynamic half of the hard drive. In "My Computer," my Win XP sees only 260 gigs of a 500 gig drive.

Yes there is a program that converts dynamic to basic. Dynamic disk converter. You can find it at www.dynamic disk.com. I hope it works for you.
