I have seen an error in your thinking about the fact that it will not fit as the mounting that will fit into the expansion slot is situated above the graphics card, if you look carefully at the pictures here - http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...n=0001&pid=274 - specifically the third one, you can see that the metal connector is mounted above the board, putting it in line with the hole...

Good point though but i bleieve it will fit, thank you very much for the help :P

I was also wondering, what drivers would i need, would i just pluc it in and play? and would i have to connect to the card or can i still use the VGA slot i am using now? (the last one doesnt really matter, it is just curiosity)

Thanks once again...

The secondary bracket (the one with the VGA port on it) will probably fit with no problems.

My concern regards the bracket that is on the board itself, the one with the HDMI and digital video ports on it. I don't know if it's going to contact the chassis (where the arrow is on the picture) and thus block the installation of the card.

I hope that I'm mistaken but double check it just in case.

You should uninstall the drivers of the onboard card and uninstall it from the device manager if necessary (sorry I'm still using XP ). Then install the new card and when Windows is loaded install the ATI drivers.

Instead of using the drivers provided on the card's support cd rom you'd better download the latest version form ATI's website:

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Download the drivers with the Catalyst Control center as it can prove helpful in the future.

As for the VGA port, you should use the one on the card and not the one you are currently using (that's the onboard's VGA port ).

What do you mean by contact?

The connectors themselves should fit through the slot nicely as they are situated above the level of the circuit board...

Also, low profile/compact graphics cards are standardised as in the sizes of the slots are all the same meaning that if they arer not, it is agaist the ISO's laws of standardisation...

I am sure it will fit, and if not, i dont mind as it has proved Acer wrong and proved that my PC is rubbish as it is not put together correctly...

And also, it isnt an expensive card so it wont matter money wise as i have £100 to spare from my birthday.

Thank you very much, i will tell you how it turns out :P

Okay, I am mistaken...

The card will fit, I don't know about the secondary bracket though...You may have to throw that part away but no harm done since you can just use a simple adaptor if your monitor has a VGA connector...
