printing

I have a HP psc 1315 series. Won't print from computer. Did. Status said offline, so I went to the printer folder and right clicked on printer icon and went down the menu to where it says status and clicked on the offline and it changed to print online. But when I put the mouse on the printer icon it still says offline. Is there another way to get the printer online so it will print? All the drivers and software has been updated. RonT.
