Solved: Boot from LCD Monitor ???
Hi Friends,

I just bought a New LCD Monitor to replace the Screen of my Laptop as I need to have a big Screen. But Now could you Experts let me know how to get this LCD Monitor hooked onto my Laptop ( Acer ) so that it will boot from the LCD Monitor Direct and not from my Laptop Screen.

Appreciate your Assistance in this Matter. Thanks

Regards

There are many helpful folks that hang out here, however I think you will probably need to provide them with the exact make/model of your new LCD monitor, and the same information for your laptop. That will ensure the advice you get is pertenant to your equipment.

In the mean time, click on the link below, and go to post 5, maybe that will get you started. Let us know how it turns out for you!!

Good Luck!!!

I have moved to Hardware, you may get more response,
BUT
Quote:
LCD Monitor Direct and not from my Laptop Screen
I dont understand this

however,
Whats the make and model of the LCD Screen
Whats the make and model of the laptop
assuming a PC LCD Screen and not a TV (But if TV with PC VGA input same applies)

Plug the screen with a VGA cable into the back of the LCD screen and onto the VGA output on the laptop
it will look somethig like this

Then on the laptop you will have one of the F keys probably with a screen symbol
F4 / F5 /F7 but different manufacturers use diffeent keys

you toggel that F key to
1) just laptop screen
2) External screen
3) laptop screen and External screen together

I have done the "actual" move to hardware, that steps seems to have been missed.
