Not sure where to start - I was not able to print anything yesterday unless it was off notepad. I sell stuff on ebay and when I tried to print an invoice the pop-up window to click on print didn't appear. I thought maybe it had something to do with pop-up blocker and I tried clicking on that and my tool icon. Eventually those disappeared - I now have no icons above - just below in my tray. And no - there is no printer icon. Not anywhere. I tried to delete my printer and reinstall driver but didn't help. I tried system restore but it won't let me restore at any point. I read on the site to try and turn off restore and turn off computer, turn back on restore and turn off computer and then try to restore to a certain date. Didn't help - it won't let me go past today. I also read the software distribution service 3.0 was screwing things up so I deleted that and stopped my automatic update for windows. I also used my anti malware and nothing was found. I am feeling very discouraged. I have Norton antivirus. Thought of buying a new printer but if my icon isn't going to appear - buying a new one won't help. I am using a Dell computer, have windows xp and a Brother 2140 printer. Had my computer repaired about 4 months ago and just bought the printer maybe 6 months ago. I am sure I am using IE8 and just tried the optimizer and downloading the msn toolbar. I don't even have my little house icon to take me to my homepage. I have to go to my favorites and click on msnhomepage. I don't know a lot about computers but I have never had so much trouble. Thanks for your time and hope someone can help me out. I am not going to bed tonight until I can get this resolved.......unless I give myself a headache from stressing.
