Hard Drive very hot and not showing in my computer
Hey,

I have a Western Digital Caviar Se WD 2500 hard drive that does not show up in 'My Computer' anymore and gets extremely hot on the circuit board closest to the middle of the drive within about 30 seconds to the point it will burn your hand.

I'm guessing something has ceased etc...?

Thanks.

R.I.P. hard drive

If there is data on the drive that is worth spending loads of money on to recover then it may be possible if you take it to a specialist. Otherwise, hit it with a large hammer and then bin it.
