Solved: i just messed something up apparently
Solved my problem with the asus k8v-X SE somehow... no idea what i did. i just kicked the chasis for the pc, actually full on kicked it with my heel. ... and powered it on, and it worked. Who knows. BUT My next problem, The family computer, a semi-old E-machine W3503 ... No idea what is wrong with this machine at all. Best to my knowledge, might be the PSU.. I'll turn on the power, hear the CPU fan kick on, loudly, spin for a bit, then die down. No hard drive noises, no bios beeps... The DVDRW drive will open and close, which means it's getting power, i assume, i can hear the hard disk spin, and come on, which I assume also means is getting power. BUT the monitor does not turn on, or receive signal the monitor is fine, it has a self check on it, it says to check the connection/cable, which i've done.. Whic wouldn't make sense for it to go out with no apparent reason. But the monitor stays off, not receiving a signal apparently...

I don't believe it's making it past a BIOS post. but i hear no error beeps. Attempted to use Emachines live help, but they pretty much told me to screw off with "your product isn't under warranty", sent me to a check list... which i went through.

really i don't know what to do for this computer, any suggestions, where to start, how to tell if it's the PSU or the motherboard, and so on.

try and change out the power supply, its a quick and easy test also those emachines are notorious for failing power supplies..... do a search on this site
my guess is that after the swap it will boot right up

aight, just got done with your suggestion, with the power supply, I swapped it out with another one I had laying about, that I'm positive was good. No boot, same issues. This time, I tried something else, I removed the RAM sticks to see what would happen, and I got three beeps out of the thing, which is the error for no ram... But still no display at all. I even went so far as to take out the power supply from that Emachine, and hook it up to My computer, the one I'm typing on right now, and as of this second, I'm using that power supply to write this message. This thing has me mind boggled.

Just finished doing that, unplugging everything, all drives, everything, power supply pulled from everything but the two connectors to the MOBO. Still no change what so ever. Fans kick on for about 7 seconds, sounding like they're maxing out.. and then they'll cut down. but still no change at all.

WELL! I have no idea what the duece was the problem wasn't the RAM, I pulled out the battery on the mother board, from the last post, when I unplugged everything and such. I pulled the battery, and waited for ... until 2 minutes ago... left both ram sticks in... threw that battery back in, and bam.. it powered up.. I got no idea why. Or what the difference was... I reseted the motherboard earlier with jumpers, moving from pin 1-2, to 2-3 for 20+ seconds, set it back to 1-2, and tried. and that didn't make a bit of a difference...

Apparently the batter needed to pulled out for over thirty minutes... And then it decided to work. I have no idea. THANKS for the help though! Mucho appreciated!
