Solved: Green sparkles on Display
Hi Techies,

Recently I have noticed some greenish borders around some of the images on my Samsung SyncMaster P2370 display; they seem to sparkle.

I have an NVIDIA EVGA graphics accelerator card and an ASUS P5N-E SLI MoBo.

This may have started since I recently updated the drivers.

Any ideas anyone?

This could be caused by a number of things. The first I would try are:
1. Try rolling back to your previous driver version.
2. Check the cable. A bad DVI cable or one that isn't connected securely at either end can cause the sparkle effects (usually doesn't happen with a VGA cable).

right click my computer......properties.....device mgr

Double-click the device for which you want to restore the driver.
Click the Driver tab, and then click the Roll Back Driver button.

I did as you suggested replay and my video driver was rolled back to NVIDIA 6.14.11.6371 (it was 6.14.11.8634 after I updated a few weeks back). After it completed the roll-back, everything showed as large characters and I was asked to reboot. I reset the display size to 1600*900 - the value it was before the roll back and rebooted.
When the reboot completed, the display area was somewhat smaller - it lost a couple of inches each side and about 1+ inches at the top and bottom. The image size was proportionally reduced.
I could choose a higher resolution but the images were still smaller than I prefer.
Before I updated the driver a few weeks back, the display area occupied the whole screen with comfortable sized images. I'm not sure what to do now.

Troubled out west...

You're right replay, it is a very nice monitor. When I use the one at my client's work site it is very inferior!
My old eye's are starting to get used to the small icons and writing - maybe there's hope for me yet!

Thanks very much for your help and feedback.

That helps replay - I didn't know about that! It's all the other non-IE stuff thats also small but I'll probably get used to it.
