Question Western Digital External HDD wont Spin Up
Good Morning Everyone,
I have a Western Digital SATA HDD 500gb that was in an external "my book" enclosure that has died on me. The case itself powers up but the drive does not spin up and is not recognized in windows or linux. I have tried the following;

1. Removed drive from case and plugged in as second drive in my desktop with no luck in seeing it.
2. Booted the computer using a BartPE disk and tried to see if I could see the disk through the utility with no luck.

I am guessing my last resorts are to either find a logic board that matches and try to save the data or send to a company that will require my first born child as payment!

I would like to replace the logic board if that is the case, but want to make SURE what I am looking for before I randomly go spending money on HDD's that I think will work because of model, DCM# etc.

any help is appreciated from everyone!!
