Ran 3dmark vantage and PCmark vantage twice each. No problems with either....though my GPU got up to 110 deg C.

If it runs ALL other things without problem, that leaves only the game. There is some conflict with the game software and your hardware/software. It can really be nothing else.

I agree that it looks like that....but I found it hard to believe since it's a game being run by thousands of people without any issues....

I tested a bit more. I installed Mass Effect and ran the game on high graphics settings which my computer should handle no problem.

Same story....running along fine and then outta nowhere everything shuts down.

Also while my CPU is overclocked at 3.8ghz and CPU temps are fine....instead of a shutdown I get a BSOD with a message saying "A clock interrupt was not received for a secondary processor within the allocated time interval." While running at stock BIOS settings I get no BSOD, just shutdown.

Now I find it hard to believe that both of these games are causing this....one of purchased through steam and I've used steam to verify all the files. The other through EA where I redownloaded and resinstalled everything...
