Heat Concerns on Video Card
I was referred here by a friend who mentioned the temperatures on my video card might be of concern.

I have an EVGA nVidia GeForce 9800GT, using the latest nVidia drivers, 6.14.11.9107. I use EVGA Precision to keep track of the GPU temperature and fan speed.

Idle, or using Hulu, I run at about 40 C. When I run one client of Eve Online (an online MMORPG), I get to the low to mid 50s. One client of World of Warcraft runs at mid to high 50s. If I run two clients (two of Eve, or one of Eve and one of WoW), I run at mid 60s.

I guess I'm concerned because my old video card (a 8800GT) went bad due to heating issues. The fan used to run at about 40% idle, 50% when running any one game, but I was concerned because when I can two clients, the fan never got above 50% (even at 65 C). Suddenly today, I noticed the fan is now idling at 35%, and now even at 55-60 C, the fan is at 35%.

Should I be concerned? I can outline my case and cooling as needed. I would appreciate any thoughts or advice on the matter, or if I should be concerned. Please let me know if any other info is required.

if your using evga precision and you dont like the temps your getting why not just set the fan speed to manuel before gaming...

Thats what I do... but with this...

Just make sure to set your fan back to 40 after gaming...

I can control the fan through EVGA Precision, but thank you for the tip.

I'm actually more concerned if these temperatures are ok, or if its running hot.
