New build, please advice.
Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a new build, mainly for high performance gaming. Budgets around 1000-1200 USD, if that's enough, I don't know. Please advice on what to get, and the best performance for money. I already have 5:1 speakers, so yeah scrap that, and if needed, I have an old monitor, and if not buying one gets me a better build scrap that too, and I'll get a good monitor later on. Just want a PC that will get me going for the next 2-3 yrs or so.

Thanx alot.

Here's something pretty much fitting into that budget...
Power supply; Corsair 650TX
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H
RAM: G. Skill 2x2 GB DDR3 1333
CPU: Phenom II x4 955
Graphics: Radeon HD 5770 (5850 or 5870 wouldn't hurt... They're pretty much more though. If you don't mostly play games that are very CPU dependent (WoW, GTA IV, some others...), you might want to get a Phenom II x3 720 for CPU and use the savings on a 5850 or 5870 instead)
DVD drive, just some random SATA burner, like this one
Case, Antec 300 and 900 are good choices... For example.

Nice motherboard for that price, but I was looking more of Core i5. Will that be better than Phenom II x4 955? If so, can you recommend a matching motherboard, sort of like this one with Crossfire/SLi support? Thanx.

A cheap quality board for i5-750 could be this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128405 No real Crossfire/SLI capability, but that's not really a con IMO... Same RAM should be well compatible. This could be a better choice though. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231193 (on Gigabyte's own compatible tested list of memory)

I could afford a better motherboard though, really want a one with CrossfireX/SLi compatibility please. Within 200 USD would be good.

Hey is it a good idea to get 5770 x 2 for the rig? How much more performance can I get compared to one? Will it be better than 4870 x 2 and a single 5850 or 5870? Thanx.

Crossfired 5770s will perform better or worse than a single 5850 depending on the game. In some games they even are a match to a single 5870, in some games, a lot worse than 5850. How much performance compared to one... Varies between 95% and ~170% of the performance of one. It's all about what's the game being looked at.
I would personally stick to one card. Let it be 5770 or 5850 or 5870, but single card solutions are and will be for quite a long time the most reliable and in my eyes the overall best way to go.

How come you think that, if they actually give more performance? I mean is it wise to buy 5770 x 2 for me? I'm not getting to spend anything for the next couple of yrs in the least, so just wanna be set.

They give more performance in some cases. If you want to play some games at more than 100 FPS and some games at 40 FPS instead of all games at 70-80 FPS, fine, but I will have to recommend against it.
