Sempron 140 Processor
Hi Everyone:

I am considering purchasing an AMD Sempron 140, Socket AM3, Processor and I understand that the second core can be unlocked.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone that knows how to unlock that second core could give me the step by step directions to unlock it before I buy that processor.

Thanks for your assistance and quick response.

Regards.

You can only unlock it using certain motherboards. What motherboard are you considering to use with it?

Hi Frank4d:

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am considering using the GIGABYTE GA-MA790GPT-UD3H AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard. However, I have not made a final decision so it could be another board.

Will that one work; Or, will I need to consider another board? I'm open to suggestions. (I'd like to keep the price under $100.00 if possible.)

Thanks again.

Looking forward to your reply again.

Regards.

I would just skip unlocking the second core.

Dual core AMD's are dirt cheap these days. Why fuss?
