I would gamble to say that it's either the different ram you have or a faulty graphics card. link to which computer you bought?

Most of the certified PC books say that a weak power supply is the culprit in a great many situations. Your problem is a classic example of a weak power supply. Of course, that's not a guarantee. You should go to www.ASUS.com then look at support (I think) and look for the system wattage calculator. It is pretty cool. rj

I wanted to finish what I was saying.......another good possibility is overheating. Your situation is also a classic example of overheating somewhere (CPU, motherbd, graphic card). Do you have enough fans? Are they running right? There should not be any cutouts open in the back of case either, because PCs are designed for certain air flow direction. There are other overheating causes, and that would create shutdowns.
650 watts should be enough to prevent the power problem (which could cause shutdowns), but again, check the ASUS wattage calculator. (also Faulty Power supply....etc)
I'm sure you've considered loose wire, cable, plug, etc.......
Good luck........

I've got 2 intake fans on the front of my PC and 2 out, one on the back of the pc and one on the top of it. So I don't think it should be a problem. I've used Speedfan to check the temperature (although I don't know how good speedfan really is) and the temperature is good.
But I will try to have all the fans run on high speed, now they go on MID.

About the power, I thought 650W would really be enough and it would be hard to change because I've pulled the wires so good around my chassi to "hide them" so it would take a lot of work to do this..

I will check the ASUS power thing! Thnx!

EDIT:
Just so you know, my PC isn't restarting bu itself, rather just freezing.
Yesterday I was playing with my friend and talking to him on skype. The game and pc froze but I could still talk to him on skype, tho I couldn't do anything else, not move the cursor or CTRL ALT DELETE.

I'd rather not BUMP but I don't want to have to make a new thread about this.

Better info
Here is better info, because I was a little off base. Yes, the power could cause this, but that's a weak answer. It has more to do with your RAM, as someone said in a previous post. But it may be as simple as a Ram module that is not seated properly. Or it could be a bad Ram module from the beginning. Or you need more Ram.
It's almost like you are running on only one good Ram module, and that the other one is faulty. First, look in your "System" section, and see if your PC is even 'seeing' both Ram modules. Then try re-seating the Ram modules, as this has been known to be a problem, unless you've already had them out and in. Your next choice would be to replace one of the modules. Your last choice would be to add more RAM. Re-seating the graphics card might be an option also, except you implied it worked most of the time.
Don't buy anything yet, I have to go to work now and just wanted to throw this out there before I leave. rj

The ram "package" I bought was actually 3x 2gb. I was unaware that you could only run Dual Channel with 2 or 4 ram sticks so I removed 1 of them and I do now have 2x2gb running in Dual Channel ( I have reinstalled Win7 after I removed one stick so there shouldn't be a problem).

I could always try to stick in the third again (I think I had same problem with 3 stick in too...)

I also tried to update BIOS because the latest BIOS upgrade for my P55-UD3 says "larger ram compability". But I failed updating somehow, the BIOS was resetted but it still says F3 (the new bios name is F4).

So I will try updating BIOS again later this week, might have done wrong but...

some progress
Okay, Kaleido, u making some progress, and adjusting the Ram. There is another post on here from dreamer_enigma, so I'll stay on. (4GB is plenty)
First of all, it is very difficult to assess a PC problem thru emails, it's difficult even with the PC right in front of you. I don't know where all the super techy guys are on this site, 'cause they should be assisting.
I do know a couple more things that you guys can check. It's goodto have the most updated drivers for your video cards. Usually, you can download those online from the manufacturer of the card.
Here's another thing to consider (there are many). If anybody is loading up a small hard drive with games and office software, you can approach a limit where your PC will freeze because the CPU can't make virtual memory. Granted, it doesn't need much, but it's in the realm of possibility, and the PC needs room to put its own stuff too. It's easy to forget your HD limit when you are loading stuff regularly, so I'm just mentioning it.
More likely it's a driver issue. And when anyone changes to Win7, you gotta make sure you end up with drivers, or the right drivers.
I admit I'm not a super-techy guy, but at least I'm here.
Good luck to both of you, if I get anymore info then I will post it.

I already have the latest graphic drivers.
I have been thinking a lot (and also posting on the intel forum) that it might be my SSD from intel. Some other people hav experienced crashes like this but they have G1 version of the drive I've got G2...

I wanted to send back my drive and get a new one but I cannot be sure if it is the SSD if I havent installed Win7 on my other driver and take out the SSD. I haven't had time for this yet.
And also, then I have to install all the same drivers and stuff to check that it's really the SSD.
