Dell P# Does not turn on
System worked fine - cleaned up drive to give away. Removed only my document files. Turned PC off. Does not turn on.
Switched power supplies (2 different times.) Supplies do not have a power sw. I guess it is software on? Fans never come on. (CPU or PS) when front panel switches are on. Have a third supply with a power switch, and it does not come on. Question? is there a set of pins in the harness which must be shorted to bring any PC supply up? Perplexed thet three supplies do not work.... advies.

As part of your cleaning, did you do any cleaning inside the PC itself? (ie, inside the case?)

Now power problem
Working, shut down via Win XP. No mechanical cleaning, Traveled and started setting up at new. No power. DOA! Changed power cords. Returned to home shop & changed power supplies, power cords. Wondering if ther is a "software" on from CPU? Dell supply has an Extra Plug which connects to MB next to main power cord. Is htere any pins to short for bench testing a supply. Have 3 supplies, and none have any power to fan when plugged in.

Also there are no interlock switches on tower. It's a P3, old, but was giving to charity. Just a bummer that I can't get any lights or +5, +12V or fans.
