Help needed in adding a router
Hi,
I have a TP-Link Modem/Router with only one port. Here are the product specifications.
http://www.tp-link.com/products/product_spe.asp?id=151

I want to add a Linksys WRT54GL router to the network to enable wireless and have access to more number of ports. I have already tried but it will not connect since the TP-Link one is a router too, and does not give a public address.

Can someone please help me with this?

Regards

The TP-Link one is the modem which is required to connect to internet.. it is a router as well. The linksys one is only a router........so I cannot connect to internet without a modem.......

I'm not sure about your particular Modem/Router, but, in general:
Assign a fixed IP address to the Linksys and disable DHCP.
Connect the Modem Ethernet port to a LAN port on the Linksys.
Ask a mod to transfer this to Networking where the really capable networking guys can take a look at it.
