Exclamation Freezing PC No boot up
Computer won't boot up gets past windows xp boot screen then the screen goes blank.
It's a second hand pc that I have used for office purposes. When it wants to it does go to the desktop. A friend of mine said it may be due to overheating and said try fitting several fans inside the case.

I already had two, a big fan on the back then a second on the CPU itself. So I was thinking I would have to tinker with the CPU bios OC settings only think it put on was the Q-Fan speed thing so it would adjust to the CPU's heat, still does'nt work. And weeks before while booting the PC in the bios it would say over clocking error so I assume it's to do with that then.

When I received the PC to me it only had the case, DVD, CPU. graphics card and mobo except from the HDD luckily i had a spare one but had to place the OS on it. And it was working ok except it did freeze alot, now it doesn't even boot.

The specs:

Asus P4P800 Mobo
Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
HDD 80GB
Memory 1GB
DVD Rewriter
ATI Radeon 9250 256MB

Try another clean install of OS.... Windows?

Try another HD

Its 2nd hand computer... so it may have problems.

Check in BIOS for temps.... you've already done the fans.

clean the computer too, also check if the computer makes any weird/unknown noise.
It might be the RAM or HDD, even the PSU.....
