Overclocking failure.
I turned on my computer earlier today to find that the monitor wasn't being found. This happened twice, as I turned it off by the on/off button, then on the third time off loading I received a message saying " WARNING: the previous performance of overclocking is failed and the system is restored to the default settings, press any key except "DEL" to enter setup...

As far as I am aware my computer isn't over clocked!! Also it'll be a year old this march!!

Spec: Intel core 2 duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz Speed: 333x 9.5 = 3164MHz
Windows Vista premium 64 Bits SP1 Cyberpower
Palit GForce 9600 GT 1GB
GSkill DDR2 2x 2GB PC6400 800MHz Ram

I'm not sure what is happening so any help would be appreciated!
Thank you.

Hi and welcome to TSG.

What make and model of motherboard are you using?

Also, you can try taking out 1 stick of RAM and reboot to see if the problem is still there. Repeat the process for the other stick aswell, this will help to identify if there is a problem with your RAM.

After a quick search I have seen a few bits of info reporting the same error on some MSI motherboards, although the posts are fairly old (not on this forum).

You need to post ALL of your specs; ie make, model and ver # of mb, brand and wattage of pw supply, what gskill ram, etc, etc.

If possible, provide links to your parts.
