Lightbulb Problems powering up laptop
I have a Toshiba M35X-S109 running XP. Brought it in to have the DC-jack fixed which they did but now I have to take the battery out, unplug it and hold the power button down for a few seconds to clear the static in order for it to boot. Once in Windows it runs fine! I can restart it but if I shut it down I have to unplug again and hold power button before it starts! Any ideas on what happened, it ran fine before I took it in. I am going to bring it to them tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone has ever seen this before and what it might be. Thanks

Either a solder bridge or possibly motherboard damage, when the DC jack gives trouble IMMEDIATE service should be sought with no use of the laptop in the meantime, as the muti-layer motherboard can suffer irrepairable damage, however I think taking it back straight away (without any more use) would be the best idea.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I did bring it back today so we'll see!
