I know why are they used in Cisco routers.
I have googled to know about the functional difference between them. Everyone saying what is stored NVRAM and Flash memory in a cisco router. But, I didn't get the answer.

I have already read the wikipedia article before posting the question.
That article describes the manufacturing differences between NVRAM & Flash memory. The manufacturing difference explains the following :

"The basis of Flash Memory is identical to EEPROM, and differs largely in internal layout. Flash allows its memory to be written only in blocks, which greatly simplifies the internal wiring and allows for higher densities. Memory storage density is the main determinant of cost in most computer memory systems, and due to this Flash has evolved into one of the lowest cost solid-state memory devices available."

My question is why Cisco has used both NVRAM and Flash memory and what is the functional difference.
