Acer monitor/volume issue
Couldn't tell you what model, it's the hubby who's good with that and he's working at the minute.

I was using the speakers on the monitor for my sound, and not had any problems so far. Turned on my pc about half an hour ago and the volume decided to turn itself up to 100. Turned it back down but 2 mins later it happened again.

I switched the speakers and used the regular ones, but it happened again. Volume pane right in the middle of my screen and no amount of pushing the buttons on the monitor got rid of it. Muted the computer, no help again.

Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? Is it time for a new monitor or is there something I can do to stop the flippin' volume pane showing up in the middle of the screen?

Need to know the model, and more information about the computer.

When you say volume pane, is that the volume pane for the computer or the monitor?

and it's the monitor volume pane that keeps popping up.

Hoped it was just having a bad day or the button was slightly pushed it in, but nopes, turned it on today and voila! volume in the middle of the screen

EDIT:
Custom built by the other half but here's the specs i can find if that helps

os - vista
processor - AMD athlon 64 processor 3200+
64-bit os

not sure if that helps any

Luckily managed to find my old monitor and switched them round.

I've been using the acer monitor for ages with no issues but I've only recently started using the speakers on it though, anyone think that could be what's started the problem?

Not all monitor speakers have a great reputation or use, I don't use mine, I use externals. Have you tried going back to your external speakers? Does that stop it?

Have you tried going into the monitor's settings and choosing to reset to defaults?

yeah, i've tried both but to no avail, it's not as big a deal now that i've switched monitors but it would be nice to go back to the other one as it's bigger and my eye sight ain't up to scratch.
