speakers buzz whenever fan kicks on
i have turned the internet upside down looking for a solution to this. i only found one thread and no solution. my problem is that my soundcard is picking up interference. when the fan kicks on, immediately my speakers emmit a loud and constant high pitched buzzing until the fan stops. all my drivers and windows are/is up to date. the sound is there if i plug in headphones or external speakers. i can get rid of it by muting the speakers, but if i want to listen hear music or watch a video i have to tolerate the sound whenever the fan runs, which is often. my computer is pretty old. circa 2005 i think. as such i'm not expecting a quick fix answer but i can't afford a new one and i love my computer. it still suits my needs perfectly aside from this buzzing. please help!

To me sounds like its bad power coming from the power supply causing the fan to run and emite the hissing noise through the speakers sort of like when you turn on a vacuum and the lights dime because there all on the same circuit if you understand what I mean?

does this happen on both AC power and when running on battery?

The buzzing happens on AC and battery power.
