no sound; after installing a new graphic card
System Manufacturer: BIOSTAR Group
System Model: P4M90-M7A
Motherboard Manufacturer: BIOSTAR Group
Motherboard Model: P4M90-M7A
processor : intel (R) pentium (R) D CPU 3.00ghz

window xp

well i plug in the graphic card ' nvida 7300 gt' and install its driver

after that i was promoted to restart.

when the computer starts back. i notice i could not open my games, i get errors. ( one which say something about ' direct sound')even if i could open them theres no sound

the speaker icon is also missing ( the speaker icon at the bottom right)

i had went to control panel> sound and audio devices. under volume everything was greyed , i cannot adjust or check anything.

i run dxdiag and did a 'Test DirectSound'

results

DirectSound test results: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x8878000a (The request failed because DirectSound resources, such as the priority level, were already in use by another caller.)

i went to Device manager
under sound,video and game controller

nothing was in yellow or have ! nor X nor red. all looks normal and working properly

i had retstart once more but the speaker icon is still missing.

i havent try to remove the graphic card. since putting it in started this problem.

please ;-; i need help.

btw it worked fine before i put in the graphic card.

It's likely that installing the drivers for the new graphics card have corrupted your sound drivers. Install the latest sound drivers from the manufacturer's website; this will be the motherboard manufacturer or soundcard manufacturer depending on whether you have built in sound or a separate card.

check with PC Wizard or Everest Home Edition to check your sound card but numero uno check with your computer manufactor, if you haven't,of course a new sound card set in there but i doubt that they will help so much....
