Question Solved: SATA Hard Drive Issue
Hello everyone,

I have a fairly out dated computer which is a E-System Ei 314 with a Pentium 4 3.2GHz. It has only got 1 80GB IDE hard drive and 4 free 150 sata ports. I bought a nice new Western Digital Caviar Blue 160GB with 8mb cache to fit into the computer. It is all plugged in but the computer doesn't recognize it. I have tried looking in the bios but cant realy find much about it. Any ideas any one?

Thanking in advance

check your device manager and go back through the bios and check to make sure its plugged in correctly or try a different sata port on the mobo

OK I will have to try a different port and check it is all plugged in well. I will be back in a minute with the results. On the boot priority it only has IDE slave and master no sata but in another part of the bios it says about SATA Detection. I dont know why.

Try to reinstall the chipset driver for your motherboard. Also, check if the bios of the motherboard is updated.
