Solved: Audio Driver Fun
I'm trying to find the correct audio drivers for the onboard sound of an older computer.

IBM (or Lenovo..) Thinkcentre M52 8213 KUL

Pentium 4 640 Prescott 3.2 GHZ 2MB L2 Cache
512MB DDR2 Ram (266 mhz)
2 HD's one SATA one IDE totaling 100gb together
intel's onboard video chip and the audio I am unsure of..

I looked it up on the lenovo site and found out that it doesn't list the drivers for the onboard sound, and it doesn't tell you what soundcard it uses.

I force installed a Soundmax HD Audio driver, which gives audio. The problem is the audio jacks in the back, and front do not work (this computer has onboard speakers, which are really bad by the way). When I installed ubuntu... however... they do work.

These drivers won't install without going to have disc, and forcing it. I've tried hundreds of drivers to no avail. I uninstalled those drivers and here's what it says in the device manager: Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus.

The motherboard in cpu-z says:

Chipset: Intel i945P/PL/G/GZ
Southbridge: Intel 82801GB (ICH7/R)

here is a link to the computer on the manu.'s page:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...&validate=true

Thanks in advance for any help.. I'm losing my mind over these lousy drivers.
