Solved: Video Card compatibility
I'm a newbie at this site, so bear with me. I have a video card question.
I have an HP "Slimline" 3620 PC with an NVidia GeForce 7100 630i as it's
original build card. I purchased an eVGA NVidia GeForce 9400 PCI-E 2.0
card to replace it, but it doesn't fit in the bay or slot, it's too wide.
I have a PCI-E connection, of course. Does anyone know whether or not HP's Slimline style PC's require a slightly different size card in general?
If anyone could please point me to some kind of "compatibility guide" for PC / Video Cards, it would be a real help. Now I have a 9400GT card that I need to sell.....and I'm not sure which newer cards will fit.
I'm running a Pentium Dual-core E5200 2.5ghz CPU, and have 4GB of Micron DDR2- SDRAM.
Appreciate the help !!!

Can you post a picture of your computer's inside?

To put it simply, is the card too "tall" or too "long" for your computer? I take it that it is too "tall" and you can't install the side panel of your case after you installed the card, right?

You need to select a Slim-Line (Low profile) video card.

Here are some choices:

Very few are very good for gaming... but there are some 9400~9600s out there.

Thanks guys. I think Compiler may have hit it, because I looked at some
of the "low profile" cards from the site he posted and they look like they
will fit. The rear bay slot is even smaller. Even though the offerings are
not super cards......they're better than my current one.
Later......
