Arrow Solved: old printer new computer
Hi, We just purchased an Hp pavillion 64-bit pc. We installed our 2004 Hp psc 1210v all-in-one printer, and the computer recognized it, but only as an Hp 1200 series. It will not print anything, but I did get the scanner to run. Strange thing, though, my son has a brand new Toshiba satelite laptop, and he installed the cd install disc for this old printer. We plugged it in to the USB port and power, and it printed out just like it was supposed to...go figure! Need some help! Sooz

Are you running Win 7? 32 bit or 64 bit? This could be the problem.

You still haven't answered the question about whether you're running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7.

Your son may be running the 32-bit OS.
