CMOS Batttery/LCD Error
Hi guys, just wandering if you could help me out. My sister gave me her laptop to fix as the screen wouldnt turn on. I have tried a few things to try and resolve it but dont want to send it to Dell for repair as i have almost solved the issue.

Firstly the lcd screens backlight emmits but no display, i can view screen fine when plugged into a monitor. Tried to find something in bios that might have changed but with it being dell im totally restricted to what i can change/view but to be honest it all looked ok. But still no display via lcd screen.

I then took the laptop apart removed the CMOS battery then switched it back on and the full display came on with no problems at all however the battery was not inside... Soon as i placed the battery back in the display goes off.

I tried booting up using diagnostics and it showed up with edid eeprom error 0321. The cable for the lcd screen is all secure and plugged in.
I was wandering if i could short the CMOS jumper to totally reset it but cant seem to find the jumper.

Can anyone else shed some light on what exactly is up? Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525 totally ironic as Dell have been bugging her for weeks to take out an extended warranty as it expired in january as soon as they realise she didnt want it this happens. I know this is probably where they make all of the money from im just sure there is a more beneficial way of fixing it without paying crazy amounts to Dell to fix it!
