Help, I need information!!
My father and I both have Toshiba laptops.
One is Vista and one is Windows XP.

Both the chargers recently broke. (The wires got cut...)

Can anyone help me with what chargers to get?
Here is the information for each laptop:

Laptop #1 (Windows XP)
Toshiba
Satellite L35-S2151
Model NO. PSL33U-02601

Laptop #2 (Vista)
Toshiba
Satellite U305-S7446
Part NO. PSU300-04R012

The 0 might be O's. I think they are zeroes because they were skinny.
I'm using my brothers, but I really want my laptop back.

You can order the proper replacement adapters from Toshiba, you can also buy generic replacements from numerous sites like www.impactcomputers.com, or you can buy universal ones from most electronics stores that auto set the voltage and current.

There's information on the adapters themselves that depending on where you buy the new adapters will need.

I want to buy mine from Amazon.
My cousin is really good with computers, and he ordered the chargers last time they broke.

But he went to China...
I just need to know is there a certain name for the charger, that I need?

Example.. my Toshiba is:

Laptop #2 (Vista)
Toshiba
Satellite U305-S7446
Part NO. PSU300-04R012

Is the charger called:
Toshiba Charger U305-S7446 or something?

They go by the model of the laptop and/or the model on the adapter itself, the same charger is usually used on many different models so sometimes its easier to search by the model of the charger rather then the laptop.

If want a quality adapter then order from Toshiba or a site that specializes in laptop parts.

Those are too expensive.
I'm not sure what charger model I need.

That's why I'm asking what's the name of the charger I need for my laptop.

I gave my laptop's type and model #.
So how do I determine the name of the CHARGER with that info?

That information should be on the charger itself.

Often times the part number will be there somewhere or a label that says "Replace with spare blah blah blah".

Also if you look at 'universal' chargers, they will usually tell you what brands and models of laptops they work with.

But asking "what charger do i need" and giving your laptop brand/model is akin to asking what a zip code is for a random city.

There is NO name for it but they do have a model/part number number, do you not have the charger to look at for the model number?

You can also use the Toshiba site to figure out Part Number: http://www.toshiba.ca/web/products.g...2&subgrp=Power

Or you can use Google and search by the model number, L35-S2151, of the laptop and the words "power adapter" and you get hits like this: http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/T...-Adapters.aspx That site lists the alternate part number or the models its compatible with, so then you can take the numbers from there and search on Amazon if you like. The PA-#####.... number is a Toshiba part number that you are looking for. So for then if you search one of them you get this: http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-PA3468.../dp/B000EMCZ52

Or I just search for "U305-S7446 power adapter" using Google and this was one of the hits: http://www.amazon.com/HQRP-U305-S507.../dp/B001M76JXW

Or using Google and this search term: "L35-S2151 power adapter site:amazon.com" gives you results from Amazon only: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Oh, thanks for the eBay search!
I'm going to search the same on Amazon and see if I can find it.

My cousin bought two of the same chargers, but they were for my dad's Vista.
It worked on mine, but it was loose.

The charger says:

Replacement AC Adapter
F4600AF1814A

There's nothing else that looks important. Just warnings and made in China.
And like.. some symbols like "CE" and "RoHS" and a house.

Sorry to ask this, but why are some 3$ brand new and some are 14$ brand new, while others are like 50$.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...dapter&x=0&y=0

Which one is the best? Is it because they don't make this laptop anymore or s/t?

-----------

The one for my vista is a lot more expensive..

At first glance I thought it was just the cord they were selling not the actual adapter, but it may actually be the whole thing. Some might also be refurbished

As for why - QUALITY. Knock-offs can be made with inferior parts for much less then a quality unit thats manufactured to high standards with high quality components by Toshiba.

These are the chargers I bought for each laptop, I read the reviews and one person said that the charger wasn't Toshiba, but it worked fine... Should I trust them?
