I realize that this really a minor problem but it's a very annoying one to deal with. First let me try to follow protocol and tell you all that I have a 7 yr. old Dell with win. XP sp3 and IE8 all up to date as far as I know. Recently after a automatic update, I noticed some wierd things happening, like missing icons in my system tray such as the volume control and also the saftly remove hardware icon. In addition to this my mouse was not working normally, it would go to sleep if left for only a few seconds and seemed to have a delay in responce to movement. Long story short, I was able to correct the other issues with system restore except for the mouse so I decided to replace my old wireless mouse with a new one and it works well except when I'm online, for each click of the scroll button the pages moves about five clicks, usually past the point where I was viewing. It does this in both IE and firefox. The scroll function works fine with the keyboard or the scroll bar on the side of the page. I have been in the setup program and all is set correctly. There is something else that I feel could be a problem...I was unable to uninstall the old I touch software that worked the old mouse and keyboard and another thing that happens is everytime I go to the mouse setup application to look at the set up, when I exit, I get this message "Run a DLL has encountered a problem and needs to close" I just send the error report and close out the window, it doesn't seem to change anything on the computer but it does it everytime I go into the mouse program. Any help would be appreciated.
