motherboard power problem?
Hi everyone, I recently swapped out motherboards and cases to fit the situation and one motherboard I just bought worked in one case and now in the new case the power surges like a flash then shuts off,it seems like something might be grounding out? I have tried everything-rewired and powered up-put the motherboard on plastic screws-tried a new case-nothing the motherboard just flashes with power very briefly then nothing, what is wrong?

To check for grounding it is best to test the board outside of any case, putting it on the box it came in is good. Do that with just the CPU (+heatsink and fan) and a single stick of RAM installed to see if it POSTs.

It is possible that the motherboard is dead, or maybe the PSU you are using!

I have tried that already-I hooked up the board to an outside psu and got the same results, a brief flash of power then nothing- it seems like something is holding it back from starting- I checked theboard very closely and there are no bulging resistors and nothing looks burnt out-there has to be some explanation?
