Question What processor can my motherboard handle?
Im asking this question because i will be upgrading my computer but i dont know what processor it can handle at most.
My computer is Acer and the model is Aspire 5710G, so what processor can it handle at the highest?
And if i upgrade it to new processor, do i have to reformat my computer?
And also, what graphics card can it handle up to?
At the moment my processor is Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5500.

As we are talking about a laptop here your upgrade options are going to be very very limited.

Graphics card is a no go, you are stuck with the one you have.
CPU may be a possibility but its not as easy a job as it is upgrading a desktop.
The only really easy (generally) upgrade for a laptop is adding more RAM.

You are pretty much stuck with what you have. Even if a cpu upgrade was possible, you run into cooling problems since the laptop was designed to dissipate a given amount of heat energy. When you produce more heat energy, it really cannot handle the increase.

Next issue would be pw supply. Laptops have a pw supply that is just enough to pw the system. Adding a more pw hungry cpu causes problems.

I agree adding ram or a larger hard drive is about all you are going to do.
