Unhappy HP Compaq Business nx7010
Hi,

My laptop was working perfectly fine yesterday, I turned it one today and the following came up:

"A disk read error occured, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

I have done this several times and it still comesbacktothis page.

Can anyone help,please.

do you have any recovery CDs for the machine ?
also when you first switch on do you see an option to enter the bios/setup - by pressing a key - f2, f10, del key etc

Hi,

No i do not have a cd and yes I can access bios by F10.

what do I need todoin bios?I have run a HDD test, came back with no errors.

will it work in safe mode
as the pc starts keep tapping F8 a menu appears choose safe mode
if so then run chkdsk
what windows version do you have
