Angry 512-chassis fan not detected
I have a HP Evo 510 with windows xp sp3 and started to get an error message all of sudden without any software or hardware changes. 512-chassis fan not detected

I changed the cpu fan with another working one and still same error. no other fans are onboard but the power supply fan on the power supply and that works.

I have searched the web for a solution for two weeks. Please help ASAP!!!

Have you replaced the fan with HPs replacement part number? Typically these factory built PCs use fans that spin @ a different speed than Commercial off the shelf parts.
That fan sensor has a specific speed it want to read from the fan. It has low tolerances for other fans.

Check the bios, there may be an option to disable that alert.
Also check HPs site for an updated bios if it doesn't.

It may tell you when you power on the system.
Typically its [F2], [F10], Or [Delete]
