To verify which version is being used by your registry do this. DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES IN THE REGISTRY JUST LOOK. Go to Start|Run|type in dialog box regedit|hit OK. This will open the Registry Editor. In the left pane window left click on + at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, left click + at Software. Scroll down list to McAfee and left click +, then click on Scan95. In the right pane window you should see a list of values for McAfee, look for Current Version and Dat File. Close out Reg. Editor by clicking on X. You can also uninstall Virus Scan and reinstall, then update the scan engine and dats. Stay away from Dat 4060 and 4061 for now. Look in Windows Explorer for McAfee Folder. You should have the 4.03 Version there you downloaded so you can reinstall. If that dosen't work call McAfee and don't give up till they help you. If you say on line after phone prompt's someone will answer line, just not toll free. Another thing you can try is going to
