Just registared. have been working on computers for about 12 yrs now.
cant find an answer to my current issue in my books. This is a machine I am working on. I was told they have been having boot issues for about six months now. It would post the hang. they would hit the DVD open/close button the system would finish booting up.
now it hangs after the beep(post). the screen shows the bios info the CPU info and del to enter setup at the bottom of the screen.
OS- XP Home, 256 ram, P4 2GHz VPU, onboard Video, pci modem, Phoenis BIOS V6, MSI W6533SMS motherboard.
what I have done so far. took memory out ( got the beep)
changed the slot the memory was in. no diff
tried a diff stick of memory. no diff
unplugged IDE cables from motherboard. no diff
unplugged floppy drive. no diff
has on board Video, so I put in a vid card. no diff
I think the prob is with the motherboard, but any help would be appreciated. thanks
